Tonight, conductor Keiko Mitsuhashi will treat us to a delightful Italian - themed musical performance. DER SCHAUSPIELDIREKTOR Overture is a lively and magnificent orchestral piece composed by Mozart. It tells the story of two sopranos vying for the lead role in an opera and the theater manager’ s efforts to manage and resolve the conflict. Mozart composed only three flute concertos in his lifetime, all at the request of amateur flute musician Ferdinand Dejean. Due to limitations in instrument production at the time, flute performance was not always optimal, leading Mozart and other composers of his era to dislike this instrument. However, Shigenori Kudo’ s performance of Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major tonight will undoubtedly breathe new life into this work. Some music experts regarded Mendelssohn as a prodigy who surpassed Mozart. Mendelssohn’ s works often exude calm and pleasant feelings, reflective of his richer and more carefree lifestyle compared to Mozart. This can be observed in his “Italian” Symphony.
