People enjoy swimming and playing near water in the summer. Baroque aristocrats did as well. Handel was commissioned to compose Water Music Suite No. 2 in D Major for the British royal family's water garden party. This notable piece creatively utilizes a large number of brass instruments. Handel's talent for joyful music is also evident in the Suite Music for the Royal Fireworks, featuring the classic “Overture” and “La Réjouissance” and using more musical instruments than Water Music Suite, giving it a majestic feel reminiscent of an emperor' s accession ceremony. Bach' s Harpsichord Concerto No. 1 in D Minor is the most popular of his keyboard concertos, though some experts believe it was adapted from the violin concerto due to the solo section' s variants specific to the violin. The composition, resembling an Italian-style concerto, showcases Bach’ s use of improvisation techniques for beauty and elegance. A rendition of this concerto played on the harpsichord will enhance its authenticity. Mozart' s Symphony No. 41 in C Major, also known as “Jupiter”, is his final symphonic piece, named for its massive scale and wonderful melody. The fitting tribute to this musical legend draws from the Greek mythological “God of Creation”. It’ s widely considered the best instrumental music of Mozart' s many works.
